2009 was an awesome year for Sawyer. Until the last 2 weeks he was battling for the points lead in the Super Stock Division. Every week he made the Fast Dash with no lower that 7th in qualifying. Each week he qualified for a starting position in the Feature Event. With the exception of a couple weeks with motor problems, and some minor mechanical problems, he had no lower than a top 6 finish. Several weeks it was a 2nd place finish and feature wins. Although Sawyer was some what disappointed with a 4th place finish in points, he accomplished what he had set out to do. He raced clean, ran fast and hard every week and never gave up until the checkered was waving.
Sawyer also had a chance to get some seat time in the Super Late Model at Golden Sands Speedway in Plover. This is the division he will be competing in during the 2010 season.
We would like to take time to thank all the fans that followed Sawyer through out the 2009 race season at W.I.R. His driving accomplishments made him the most recognizable driver of the season.
We would also like to thank the people that worked on the car every week at the track. Long time driver Pete Berken, and Sawyers friends Junior, JJ and Cody.
We look forward to some testing later this season in the Late Model yet, and one last run in the Super Stock at Slinger on Sept 20th.
